In view of past and current debates over the stereotyping of the Fine-Arts into the traditional bourgeoisie (which incidently should be a stereotype of the capitalist intention that manipulates culture, not the students and practitioners working within Fine-Arts) I have felt it necessary to add a post-modern description into the dictionary term for bourgeois.

bourgeois (often disparaging) –n.,

1. a member of the middle class, esp one regarded as being conservative and materialistic or capitalistic. 2. a mediocre, unimaginative or materialistic person –adj. 3. characteristic of, related to, or compromising the middle class. 4. conservative or materialistic in outlook. 5. (in Marxist thought) dominated by capitalist or capitalist interests. 6. working-class single parent who studied fine art and owns an ex-council house (see also satire)
